There were four major storms in the Bible.
The Noah’s Ark flood – Caused by a wicked and sinful society, NOT by Noah. The wicked were destroyed, but Noah and his family were saved by obeying God. They went through the ultimate storm and, in the end, got a new start in life.
Jonah’s Storm – Caused by Jonah’s own disobedience, not by others. Jonah was thrown overboard, went through extremely difficult times, and got a second chance to obey God. All were saved and it changed Jonah’s life for good.
Disciples in the boat with Jesus asleep – No known cause. It was just a storm that came up. They woke up Jesus, who calmed the storm. All were saved, and nothing was lost. Jesus was revealed as the Lord of nature and of storms.
Paul in a prison ship on it’s way to Rome – Caused when the centurion in charge did not listen to warnings from God through Paul, a prisoner. It was a long-lasting storm. They were stripped of all belongings, but all were saved alive. It changed their direction.
